Used Book Sale
Back by popular demand
is the Used Book Sale! CHEF is pleased once again to allow home
educators the opportunity to sell and swap books so they can buy
new ones! While we are happy to accommodate, we need to
establish a few ground rules.
Service for Home
Schoolers – The Used Book Sale is offered as a service for
Alabama home educators. We want to help you sell books so you can
buy new ones from our vendors. The Used Book Sale is not intended
to be a place to run a small business or supplement family income.
Our sincere hope is that home schooling families will sell a few
books and then attend the seminar sessions, shop the Vendor Hall,
and enjoy the fellowship of other home educators.
Eligibility –
In order to sell books in the
Used Book Sale, you must be a home educator registered for
the full convention; dealers or persons who are not registered
for the full convention may not participate.
Tables are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. To
register to sell books register for the convention and indicate
your desire to sell books on the order form. You must
pre-register for the full convention and indicate on the
registration form your desire to sell books or register at
the door by 9am on Friday morning the 9th of May. Fees – We have arranged to rent tables from the BJCC
for you to display your books. To recover our cost we are charging
each family selling books $10 for a 6 foot table. The used book
table fee is not refundable for any reason.
Limitations and Restrictions –
The Used Book Sale is not
intended to provide a market for you to operate a family business,
but to provide a way to sell old books to generate cash to buy new
books. When you arrive, the registrar will give you a pass that
will allow you access to the Used Book Sales area. Sellers are
responsible for their own sales. CHEF cannot provide personnel to
manage tables and money. Neither CHEF nor the BJCC will be
responsible for any loss of merchandise or money. Sellers assume the responsibility for all such losses.
The Used Book Sale will be open Friday only from 11:30 noon until 1:30
p.m.
All materials should be removed from the room by 5:00 p.m.
