State Home School Convention Registration Information
Family
Rates - Participation in the CHEF
Convention is extended to families and is available at a per family
rate. “Family” includes parents, home schooled children, and
grandparents. There is no individual rate. However, grandparents who
are home schooling their own children must pay the registration fee even
if they have adult children who also home school.
Registration
Deadline - Deadline for
advanced “Early Bird” registration is April 15, 2008. In order to
receive the advanced registration discount, your envelope must be
postmarked by April 15th. After that date, regular rates will
apply. On April 20th, a free
night's stay at the Sheraton will be awarded to one "early
bird" registrant. At the Convention, drawings from the
"early bird" registrants will be held each day for a
very nice door prize made up of vendor donated gifts. Registration
is non-refundable. If for any reason you are unable to attend
the Convention, the registration fees received by CHEF will be
considered a donation.
Children
and Infants - We have a
limited children's program consisting of a worship workshop on
Friday afternoon led by Annette Oden from Integrity Music in Mobile,
Alabama. Those who participate on Friday will perform in a
musical presentation at the keynote session on Saturday. There
is no extra charge for attending this workshop. Children who
accompany their parents to the Convention but do not participate in
this workshop will
have to remain with their parents at all times. Parents are
responsible for their children. There will be a designated room for
nursing mothers.
Pastor
Scholarships - CHEF offers
free entry to pastors and their families attending the CHEF
Convention for the first time or to pastors desiring to begin a
church school ministry. To qualify, you must be an Alabama
pastor and a request for a "Pastor's Guest Pass" written
on church letterhead must accompany the completed registration form.
Please submit your request on church
letterhead along with the completed registration form prior to April
15, 2008. You must attend with your family to receive the
scholarship.
Missionary
Scholarships - Active
missionaries home on furlough in May who are currently homeschooling
will be granted free admission to the Convention.
Requests for these scholarships should be submitted to the CHEF
office by April 15th. Please submit a letter with the
registration form and indicate where you serve and the sponsoring
church or church organization. You must attend with your
family to receive the scholarship.
Administrators
Luncheon - This is open to
church school administrators and their spouses only. The cost is $20
per person, and you must sign up for the luncheon when you register
for the Convention. To register, indicate the number attending and
enclose proper funds. Sorry, due to space restrictions no guests
other than administrators and their spouses may be admitted.
